Laziness isn’t alien to all of us, we have all had our fair share of lazy days with various reasons for our inactivity and unwillingness to work, and there is nothing wrong with taking some time off to relax, reboot and refresh. However, laziness is simply a symptom of apathy causing us to remain where we are in idleness.
There is no room for laziness in the life of a Christian as it violates God’s purpose, It is not in our nature for we have the regenerated life of God which propels us to work and eat the fruit of our labor.
We are empowered as Christians to overcome the flesh’s propensity to laziness. “For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10). We are motivated to diligence and productiveness out of a love for our Savior who redeemed us.
